Frosted Sugar Cookies
Why I Love This Recipe
This is my favorite Christmas recipe! It was passed down from my grandmother to my mother and my mother to me.
Ingredients You'll Need
Cookies:
4.5 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1.5 cups shortening
1.5 tsp baking pwoder
1.5 tsp baking soda
1.5 tsp salt
3 eggs
3 tsp vanilla
6 tbsp milk
Frosting:
1.5 cups shortening
2 lb sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 package Dream Whip
1/8 cup flour
2/3-3/4 cup milk
Optional: food coloring
Directions
Cookies: Sift together flour, powder, soda, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening. Blend in eggs, vanilla, and milk. Scoop into 1" balls and bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes.
Frosting:
Whip together cream, shortening, and Dream Whip for 5 minutes. Add sugar, vanilla, flour, and milk. Whip for an additional 5 minutes.
Optional: add food coloring to dye frosting.
