Why I Love This Recipe

I learned to make this pie in Home Economics class back in the early 80's. I always enjoy it warm from the oven with whipped cream....aahhhh, the warm memories are delightful!

Ingredients You'll Need

2 eggs
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter, melted
1/2 C. flour
1/3 C. cocoa powder
1/4 t. salt
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 C. chopped nuts
Powdered sugar, for dusting, optional

Directions

Heat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8 inch pie pan.

Beat the eggs in a small mixer bowl. Blend in the sugar and melted butter. Combine the flour, cocoa and salt and add to the butter mixture. Stir in the vanilla and nuts.

Pour the batter into the pan and bake until the center is just set, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into wedges and sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
