"GF buns for hamburgers and sandwiches."

Serves makes 12 buns | Prep Time 15-20 minutes | Cook Time 20 minutes bake time

Why I Love This Recipe

These GF buns are so easy to make and so much better than the store bought GF variety. We keep them in the freezer for hamburgers or hot dogs.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. olive oil
4 eggs
1 t. salt
1 T. sugar
1 T. instant dry yeast
3 1/2 c. GGFG Baking Mix (or Baking mix of your choice)
1 T. zanthum gum (if using a store bought baking mix check if contains zanthum gum before adding more)

Directions

Heat water in the microwave on high for 2 1/2 minutes. Pour into the bowl of a stand mixer and add oil. Start on low speed. Add eggs and mix well. Add sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well. Turn off mixer and add GGFG Baking Mix and zanthum gum. Stir by hand until moistened, then turn mixer to medium and beat for 1 minute. Meanwhile line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon out dough onto baking sheet in 12 equal balls. Flatten balls into a hamburger or hot dog shape bun and cut a cross in the top with a knife. Set in a warm place to rise for about an hour. Bake in an oven preheated to 375F for 20 minutes. Top of buns may be sprinkled with sesame seeds, instant onion, or poppy seeds before baking if desired. Freezes well.
