"An Old Fashion with a Geek sensibilities"

Why I Love This Recipe

Old fashions are my favorite drink to make because it is quick, easy, and tasty. They start strong but complex and end sweet and smooth.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 or 2 cubes of brown sugar
2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters, plus more to taste
1 half dollar–sized slice orange peel, including pith
2 ounces good-quality rye or bourbon
1 maraschino cherry
1 Large ice cube (D20 dice shaped to make it Geek)


Directions

Place the brown sugar cube(s) in the glass.


Add bitters to soak the sugar.


Muddle the sugar and the bitters until fine and the bottom of the glass is coated.


Add large ice cube and Pour in bourbon


Heat the orange peal for a few seconds just to release the oils


Rub the orange peel around the glass edge for aroma and flavor before dropping it into the glass.


Add your cherry and you are done!
