"Oriental flavored green salad"

Serves 6 | Prep Time 30 minutes | Cook Time 5 - 15 minutes

Why I Love This Recipe

Thanks to Pam Pelley, a MOPS friend of Kathy Brooks, who 25 years ago gave a recipe from her family to Kathy's new little family, which then became a favorite of the Brooks family at large. Who knows where the recipe will travel next?

Ingredients You'll Need

6 - 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 head lettuce
4 green onions
1/2 cup Chow Mein noodles
3 oz toasted almonds
4 tsp sesame seeds
Dressing:
5 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp Accent seasoning (can get it at Walmart, or can substitute 1 tsp more salt)
1/4 Tsp pepper
1/2 cup salad oil (olive)
6 Tbsp white vinegar
1 Tsp salt

Directions

Cook bacon and crumble or chop. To cook, place 2 paper towels on a microwave safe plate. Layer bacon, then 3 more paper towels. Cook 4 - 6 minutes on high. Or cook bacon on the stove top, which takes a little longer.

Shred lettuce and add chopped green onions in a large bowl.

Mix bacon, noodles, almonds and sesame seeds together. Put aside.

Mix together dressing ingredients.

Toss lettuce mixture, bacon mixture and dressing together. Dressing quickly soaks lettuce, so salad is best eaten immediately.

Pairs Well With

Sweet meats like turkey, ham or barbecue
