Why I Love This Recipe

This is one of my Great Aunt Rete's recipes. Everything Aunt Rete made was very tasty. These ginger cookies are just one of the my favorites. Every year my family makes these for holidays. Luckily this recipe makes plenty to go around.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c molasses
4 c flour
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp soda
1 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add flour, ginger, cinnamon, soda, and salt. Make into 1 1/2 inch balls then roll in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.
