Why I Love This Recipe

My husband and I love the Jack Daniel's glaze at TGIFridays. I have the copy cat recipe for it and have made it, but I wanted something simpler b/c I would be in the kitchen alot for Christmas already. My husband does not like the glaze packets that come with hams so I had to come up with something that was still sweet and would satisfy both of our tastes. It does taste remarkably similar to the TGIFridays sauce, but as my husband put it, just without the kick of the whiskey.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 can Dr Pepper
1 (20 oz) can crushed Pineapple in HEAVY syrup, drained fairly well
2 good sized cloves are garlic, crushed and remove papery skin
1 c packed brown sugar

Set your ham to bake in the oven. Pour all ingredients into a heavy 1 qt saucepan. Stir and bring to a light boil over medium heat. Once it begins to come just to a boil reduce heat low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. The juices will reduce quite a bit and the pineapple will turn a nice amber color. Strain if you desire, I didn't though. Glaze your ham according to the directions that came on the ham package. Mine said to bake mine at 250 for 10 minutes per pound (so 90 minutes for mine) and then turn the oven up to 425, glaze ham and bake an additional 10-15 minutes.
