Why I Love This Recipe

Grandmas Cookies

My eleventh Christmas was one that i will remember for the rest of my life. It was the Christmas after my grandma died, she was like a second mom to me. When I became older i was the golden grandchild.

That July when she died was devastating The morning when i got the call ~

I asked, “Hello?”

“hi sweetie it mommy,” she replied. “Omma died last night between three and four o’clock am. I didn’t watch her, i was sleeping but i was just letting you know, okay?”

“Ok,” i whimpered, starting to cry.

Now every Christmas I always think of how important she was to me and that I will never forget all the memories we had together. Even though she died when I was young i can still to this day remember what a kind and beautiful person she was. I will never forget the bracelet my mom found in her room that she was hiding for Christmas, but never made it. That bracelet is still with me to this day and i’m grateful I have something to remember her by.

Ingredients You'll Need

8 cups - all-purpose flour
2 cups - white sugar
1 cup - milk
4 - eggs
2 tbsp - baking powder
1 ½ - vegetable oil
2 tbsp - anise extract
2 cups - confectioners sugar


Mix ingredients

Make into shape of your choice (and size)

Put into oven (how many on a tray depends on size)

350 degrees

10 minutes
