Why I Love This Recipe

This recipe was my grandma's and my mom used to make it all the time.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 C sugar
1 cup butter, softened
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Directions

Beat sugar and 1 cup of butter together until creamy.

Add eggs slowly 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

Beat sour cream and vanilla extract into the butter mixture.

In a separate bowl, stir flour, baking powder and baking soda together. Add the flour mixture to the butter and eggs mixture.

Remove to another bowl and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets. Roll cookie dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.

Cut into shapes and place on prepared baking sheets. You could also just use a tablespoon to drop cookies on the sheets if you do not want rolled cookies.

Bake in preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes or until the cookies spring back when lightly touched in the center. Transfer to racks to cool.
