Grandma Hazel's Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb elbow or shell macaroni
1 stick unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups whole milk
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente.
In a large saucepan, melt butter. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in flour. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Return butter-flour mixture to medium heat and slowly whisk in milk.
Add cheese a handful at a time, continuously stirring until cheese has melted.
Combine with macaroni and serve hot.
