Grandma Sory's Apple Crisp

Why I Love This Recipe
When I was growing up, our next door neighbors were "grandma and grandpa" and they always got together for Sunday dinner. This apple crisp was one of her great desserts, only made better by the homemade ice cream that grandpa would make.
She would have never dreamed of making this with fuji apples, but I like to keep a little "bite" in the apple
Ingredients You'll Need
4 c fuji apples, peeled and thinly sliced
2/3 c brown sugar
1/2 c flour, sifted
1/2 c rolled oats
3/4 t cinnamon
1/2 c butter, softened
Directions
Butter an 8x8 baking dish and layer apples in dish
Dot butter in between some layers of apples
Blend sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and 1/4 c butter to get a crumbly, sandy texture
Sprinkle mixture over apples
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
Serve with ice cream
