Why I Love This Recipe
My mom got this recipe from her mother-in-law (although I don't remember my grandmother ever making it, so I'll just have to take her word for it). I love this recipe because it's very simple and flavorful, and the chicken is always incredibly tender.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 stick butter
2-3 chicken breasts, halved
1 medium onion, diced
1 bay leaf
1 tsp thyme
1 can sliced mushrooms (7 or 8 oz), not drained
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Cooked rice
Directions
1. Brown chicken in butter.
2. Add onion, garlic powder, bay leaf, thyme, and mushrooms. Cook 1 hour over low heat.
3. Serve over rice.
