I make these oaty bars regularly for my grandson. Because of this sodding virus I am going to have self isolate for however long I can bear it. I will miss him dreadfully. I made these oaty bars yesterday as a bye-bye present for him.

Ingredients You'll Need
Rolled oats
Soya or nut milk
raisins or other vine fruits
jam, mincemeat, pureed dried fruits, fruit compote
Agave syrup OR date Syrup OR brown sugar -something sweet
Mixed seeds/ nuts as you choose
Cinnamon/nutmeg as you choose
(amounts are as you choose and what looks good)
Directions
Grease and line rectangular or square baking tin: 7' x 7' is ideal.
Put 300 grams rolled oats into a bowl.
Soak a large handful of vine fruits in hot water to soften: about 10 mins.
Add small handful seeds/mixed small nut as you choose.
Add sugar or sugar solution -again, how much is up to you.
Drain the vine fruits, and add to bowl.
Mix everything thoroughly.
Gradually and carefully pour in the milk: this is to bind it all together. If it gets too wet, chuck in more rolled oats. You want it to be a squashy consistency.
Press 1/2 of the mix into prepared baking tin: be firm - you want to make a fairly solid base.
Then spread your choice of sweet filling over the top of the rolled oats mix: then press the rest of the oat mix over on top.
If it looks too dry - as if when cooked it will fall apart - you can add more milk.
Put in oven and bake until slightly brown at the edges, about 10 - 15 mins. These bars are best soft and moist.
