Why I Love This Recipe
Margaret. That's all I'll say and you guys know what I'm talking about. I'm not sure if this is her recipe, but whenever I think about grebel, I think about her.
Ingredients You'll Need
2 c. flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. allspice
cream or canned milk
Directions
Beat eggs; add rest of ingredients. Add enough cream or canned milk to form a soft dough that will roll easily. Roll thin. Cut in about 3"x5" squares. Cut 2 slits in each square. Put cut strip through cut slit. Fry in deep hot oil or fat (turn quickly so they won't get too brown.) Drain on paper towel; sprinkle with sugar.
