Guandules

"Dominican guandules guisado are a staple for the holidays or when you need a heavy meal on a rainy day (comfort food!). A great addition to the christmas dishes with pork and tostones." -Maria L.
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 onion
1/2 green pepper
3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1-2 cubed beef broth
2-3 cans of pigeon peas
Olives (Goya caper and olives)
Oregano
Directions
Place onion, green pepper, olives and capers, oregano, garlic, and cilantro to sauté on medium heat.
Liquify 1 can of pigeon peas in blender.
Add liquid peas to the sauce pan.
Add 1 normal can of pigeon peas.
Fill empty pea can with water and add to mixture.
Add 1-2 beef broth cubes, mix, and leave on medium heat.
Once at desired consistency, put on low heat.
Serve over rice and pair with desired meat of choice.
