HOBBIT PIE
Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe was also posted by Twinkle on TOH. It attracted me as I am a Lord of the Rings fan and just had to try it. I really don't think there are any recipes in the story but hey, what the hang.
Ingredients You'll Need
2 deep dish unbaked pie crusts
2 beaten eggs
1/3 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 1/2 lbs sliced mushrooms
2 cups onions, chopped or sliced
3 Tbsp. oil
1 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1/2 cup dry white wine
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 deg. F.
(2) Sauté mushrooms until soft, then add onions, and cook over medium heat until onions are translucent.
(3) Take mixture off heat, and add flour, then wine, mixing well. Add all other ingredients and salt and pepper to taste.
(4) Put one pie crust into a 9” pan. Pour mixture into crust and cover with lattice top and bake 40-45 minutes.
NOTES
You can add a little garlic and horseradish, and sprinkle paprika or cayenne over the top.
