"Side dish, Hamburger cheese dip"

Serves 6 to 8 | Prep Time 5 minutes PT5M | Cook Time 15 minutes PT20M | Appetizer

Why I Love This Recipe

A hamburger cheese dip is a warm, cheesy, and savory appetizer or snack, typically made with cooked ground beef, processed cheese (like Velveeta), and sometimes tomatoes, onions, and seasonings, served with tortilla chips or crackers

Ingredients You'll Need

1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3 Tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 cup salsa
3 cups (about 3/4 of a pound) shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
2. Add the ground beef, salt, and garlic powder.
3. Cook stirring occasionally until cooked through, 7-8 minutes. Remove from heat.
4. Stir in the flour really well. Slowly stir in the milk, then stir in the salsa.
5. Put the saucepan over medium heat, stirring often until bubbling. Remove from heat.
6. Add the cheddar 1 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition until it’s melted in.
7. Serve immediately. Or cover and refrigerate and reheat when you’re ready.

Pairs Well With

tortilla chips.
