Homemade Basil Tomato Salsa

Why I Love This Recipe
FEATURING: Tomatoes, jalapeno pepper, onions, garlic & bell pepper (optional), and basil.
Quick, simple, and delicious- a perfect summer side dish! Make it with basil or cilantro (if you prefer a more traditional taste). If you have time, put aside for 1 hour before eating to give more time for the flavours to blend. You can easily half this recipe if you have less tomatoes.
Ingredients You'll Need
3 cups chopped tomatoes (approx. 3-5 tomatoes small-medium tomatoes)
1/2 cup chopped red or green sweet pepper (optional)
1 cup onion, diced
1 clove garlic (or 1 garlic scape), minced (optional)
1/4 cup minced fresh basil (or cilantro) - you may want a bit more- up to 1/2 cup
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
4 teaspoons chopped fresh jalapeno pepper (including seeds)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Stir the tomatoes, green bell pepper, onion, basil, lime juice, jalapeño pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Serve.
