2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1 can (29 ounces) tomato purée
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 tsp basil
1 tsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp salt


Heat the olive oil in a 3-quart saucepan over a medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, cook stirring often until it turns a light golden brown and softened, stirring frequently.

Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, basil, parsley flakes, black pepper, oregano and salt. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 12.
