Serves 4-6 | Prep Time 15-20 minutes | Cook Time 10-15 minutes grill timeWhy I Love This Recipe
Pork naturally is very good with Asian flavors. Our family enjoys this grilled pork dish in the warmer months when we don't want to heat up the kitchen.
Ingredients You'll Need
2 lbs. pork tenderloin or center cut pork loin
2 T. green onions, slices
1 T. toasted sesame seeds
For the spice rub:
1 t. freshly ground sea salt
1/2 t. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. cinnamon
For the Honey Sesame Sauce:
1/2 c. honey
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 T. olive oil
1 T. hoisin sauce
1 T. onion, minced
1 t. garlic, minced
1/2 t. sesame seed oil
1/4 t. crushed red pepper
1/4 c. cold water
2 T. cornstarch
Directions
Mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over all sides of pork. Put pork in a pan and set in fridge for 30 minutes. Meanwhile combine honey, soy sauce, olive oil, hoisin sauce, minced onion, minced garlic, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper together in a sauce pan and heat to boiling. Mix cornstarch with cold water to form a slurry. Stir into boiling sauce, cook and stir until thickened and clear. Remove 1/4 cup of sauce to use for grilling, set remaining sauce aside for serving. Remove pork from fridge and cut into 1/2" slices. Lightly oil grill grates and grill pork until browned and shows grill marks, turn pork over, brush with glaze, continue cooking, turning, and brushing with glaze until pork is cooked to 145F and glaze is caramelized. Serve pork with steamed rice or rice noodles drizzled with remaining sauce and sprinkled with green onion slices and sesame seeds.
