The ribs are best left in the marinade overnight or over a 24 hour period.
Cook ribs to your own desired liking.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 & 1/2 x KG American-style pork spare ribs
2 x TBSP of light soy sauce
1 x TBSP of hoisin sauce
1/2 x CUP of honey
1/2 x TSP of five spice power/all purpose seasoning
1 x TBSP of brown vinegar
1 x Small red chilli, (chopped)
1/4 x CUP of tomato sauce
1 x TBSP of sweet sherry/dessert wine, (OPTIONAL)
2 x TSP of grated fresh ginger
1 x Clove of garlic, (crushed)
Directions
Cut rib racks into individual ribs
Combine all ingredients into a bowl or sealed cooking bag
Toss well and refrigerate for between 6 hours or overnight. The longer the marinade sits, the more flavourful the ribs.
BBQ the ribs until tender, intermittently basting ribs with leftover marinade or bring marinade to a boil in a pot and pour over finished ribs.
Pairs Well With
As is with a fresh salad.
