Why I Love This Recipe

This recipe was given to me buy a family friend. It is taken from BettyCrocker's Cookbook. This meal serves six to eight people

Ingredients You'll Need

2 pounds beef or stew, cut into cubes
-1 medium onion, sliced
-1 small clove garlic, finely chopper
-1/4-cup shortening
-1 1/2 cup shortening
-1 1/2 shortening
-3/4- cup catsup
-2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
-1 tablesppon brown sugar
-2 teaspoons salt
-2 teaspoons paprika
-1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
-1/4 cup cold water
-2 tablespoons flour


Cook and stir beef, onion, and garlic in shorening until beef is brown;drain. Stir in 1 1/2 cups water, the catsup, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, and the dry mustard. Heat to boiling;reduce heat. Cover and summer until beef is tender; 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Shake 1/4 cup cold water and the flour in tightly covered container;stir gradually into beef mixtue. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 min. Serve over hot noodles.

Noodles: Drop 8 ounces uncooked noodles into 6 cps rapidly boiling salted water. heat to rapid boiling. Cook, stirring for 3 mins. Cover tightly. remove from heat and let stand 10 mins, drain
