I found this recipe in my grandmothers 1945 cookbook, fried corn bread with butter makes a meal better.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Directions
Add beaten egg to milk , and add to dry ingredients which have been well mixed. Using a small label pour a circle of mixture in a well oiled hot skillet or griddle , fry until golden brown and serve hot.
