Jadan’s Fruit Smoothie:

Why I Love This Recipe
If fresh fruit is out of season-no worries—frozen fruit works just fine—and it’s already chilled for the smoothie!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 bag of frozen fruit (preferably “fruit of the forest”-blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc. if you want to use other more tropical fruit, that’s fine too, but be careful about the tartness of the fruits you choose to blend together)
1/3 c orange juice
1 apple
1 small container plain or vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
(To sneak in for extra healthiness: )
-flaxseed (1 tbs)
-cod liver or fish oil (1 tbs)
-ice (only if needed for texture)
Directions
Blend frozen fruit, apple and orange juice in a blender (or with a hand blender)
Once blended, add yogurt to taste (some kids may like it more or less yogurt-y) and ice if needed, and re-blend
If you can sneak it in—go for the cod liver oil and/or flaxseed! (Blend WELL after adding these—if you do, they shouldn’t taste them))
Serve it up! (For extra fun, serve with a thick straw, a slice of fresh orange and a cocktail umbrella—kids love to play with them!)
