Janice's Cheesecake

Why I Love This Recipe
I discovered this recipe in the newspaper when I was first married at 18 in 1961. I've been making it ever since and my family loves it.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 1/2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1/4 c. butter
two 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
5 egg yoks
1 pt. sour cream
1 t. vanilla
1 t. lemon juice.
5 egg whites
Directions
Make base of vanilla wafer crumbs & butter. Place in bottom of cheese cake pan
Cream cream cheese and sugar. Add 5 egg yoks to cream cheese mix
Stir in sour cream, vanilla, & lemon juice.
Whip egg whites and fold in
Pour over base
Bake at 300 Degrees for 1 hr. Turn off oven for 1 hr. Open oven for 1/2 hour. Leave cheese cake in oven until finished with process and then chill.
