Why I Love This Recipe

This cookie is special to my family because it has been passed down for generations and we make it for all types of holidays and family get togethers. CHEMISTRY INFORMATION: When you mix together 1 ½ c confectioner’s sugar, 4-5 tbsp evaporated milk, 1 tsp almond extract it is a physical change. Another physical change is when you mix the butter, the sugar, and the eggs. A chemical change is when the cookies brown on the bottom when you put them in the oven. Another chemical change is when you open the oven door you can smell the cookies baking.

Ingredients You'll Need

Zange juice( heterogenous)

1 ½ c confectioner’s sugar(homogeneous)
4-5 tbsp evaporated milk(homogeneous)
1 tsp almond extract( homogeneous)
rainbow sprinkles(heterogeneous)


Sift dry ingredients together and set aside

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar and add eggs one at a time.

Add orange zest then juice.

Gradually beat in the dry ingredients.

Wrap dough and put in refrigerator for one hour.

Roll the dough in teaspoon size pieces.

Roll into cylinder shape.

Make the knot and put on lightly greased pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Let cool.

Add frosting and sprinkles.

Servings: about 20 cookies

Preparation time: About 1 hour 30 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes
