Joe and Joanne's Mushroom and Garlic Sauce with Pasta - Family Favorite

This is a family favorite of Joe and Joanne and her family
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 oz dried porcini or shiitake mushrooms (remove tough stems after soak)
1 C boiling water
6 cloves minced garlic
3 T butter
8 oz domestic mushrooms Sliced thin
3 T Marsala wine
1 C whipping cream
1/2 t minced thyme
1/2 C fresh grated Parmesan cheese
chopped Italian parsley garnish
Prepared pasta
Directions
Soak shiitake mushrooms in boiling water about 30 minutes-strain and reserve liquid (2/3-3/4 C)
Sauté garlic in butter low heat, do not brown
Add mushrooms, cook and stir
Add reserved mushroom water
Add Marsala wine
Simmer slowly 3 minutes
Add cream, thyme, salt and pepper
Reduce slowly about 10 minutes
Add Parmesan 5 more minutes
Toss over linguine or cheese filled pasta
Garnish with a sprinkle of Parmesan and parsley
