Why I Love This Recipe

I usually start the fudge during the last 5 minutes the cake is baking and pour over the cake the second it comes out. I always use a clear glass Pyrex to watch the fudge seep down the side.

There is always a family fight over who gets the end pieces of the cake. They are encased in the peanut butter fudge! YUMMY!

Ingredients You'll Need

1 C. oatmeal
1 1/2 C. hot water
1 C white sugar
1 C brown sugar
1 Stick butter
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Pour water over oatmeal and let sit for 5 minutes

Cream white sugar, brown sugar, butter, eggs, salt and extract. Add oatmeal.

Add flour, soda, powder and cinnamon to wet mixture, mixing thoroughly.

Pour into a 9 x 13 pan.

Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 30-40 minutes depending on oven. Cake is done when knife inserted comes out clean.
