Kalbi Ribs or Korean Short Ribs

Korean short ribs are simple to make and not difficult to find. Most grocery stores will cut them for you, if you ask.
Ingredients You'll Need
3# Korean cut beef ribs
50ml soy sauce
50g brown sugar
50ml mirin
50ml water
1 tbs sesame oil
1 asian pear (peeled and deseeded)
10 cloves of garlic
1/2 white onion (240g)
50ml maple syrup
Directions
Soak the beef ribs in water for about 10 mins.
Combine all ingredients except for the beef in a blender and blend into a liquid marinade.
Drain the beef and combine with the marinade in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for about 12 and up to 24 hours.
In a hot skillet, sear each side for 3-4 mins or place on sheet tray with a sheet rack and roast in a 425 degree oven for 15 mins.
