Kathy's Kasha

Why I Love This Recipe
For those of you who hate brown rice (I can't stand it)Try Kasha instead! For those of you who have never heard of it...its buckwheat groats! No don't be scared!! It comes in a box like Couscous..brand name Wolff's..sometimes in the Kosher section of the grocery store. It has a wonderful, nutty roasted taste and is easy to make and you can add almost any veggies to make it even better. My favorite version is with mushrooms and green onions!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 cup Wolff's Kasha
1 egg
2 cups Chicken Broth
1 T butter
1 package presliced mushrooms
1 bunch green onions, green and white chopped
Directions
Saute mushrooms until nicely browned in butter. Prepare Kasha as directed on box using egg and chicken broth. Once Kasha has absorbed all the broth, add the cooked mushrooms and green onions and stir together.
Again, you can add almost any veggie to this and its great...also good with mixed roasted veggies! SO MUCH BETTER THAN RICE!!
