Why I Love This Recipe

This happens to be one of my easiest and most requested sugar cookies to make. *I use an icecream scoop to put the dough on the cookie sheets! It makes less cookies and takes a little longer to bake. About 14 min.


Ingredients You'll Need

1 c butter, softened
1 c oil
1 c sugar
1 c sifted powdered sugar
2 large eggs
1 t vanilla
4 c flour
1 t salt
1 t baking soda
1 t cream of tartar
Additional sugar-optional


Directions

Beat butter and oil in large bowl at med. speed until blended.


Gradually add 1 c sugar and powdered sugar, beating well.


Add eggs and vanilla, beating until blended. Combine four and next 3 ingred.


Add to butter mixture, mixing well.


Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.


Bake @ 350 degrees for 9-10 min or until lightly broned.


Remove to wire racks; sprinkle with additionl sugar while warm, if desired.


Let cool.


Makes: 9 doz


Freeze cookies in airtight conainer up to 1 month.
