Why I Love This Recipe

Our Lasagna cheese mix goes good in a lot of recipes including this one!


Ingredients You'll Need

Meat mix
3 Lbs ground beef
1 onion diced or rough chopped small
1 red or green sweet bell pepper diced
Garlic powder
1 TBS grated parmesan cheese
Opt: Salt and pepper
Opt: 1 egg
Bread crumbs regular seasoned (not Italian seasoned)

Cheese mix:
Sliced provolone
shredded 5 or 6 cheese Italian blend cheese
Ricotta cheese (whole milk low-fat tastes rubbery when cooked)
1 TBS grated Parmesan cheese divided in 1/2
Opt: whole milk small curd cottage cheese (low-fat tastes rubbery when cooked)
Opt: 1 egg well beaten
a lil salt and pepper
Opt: a lil finely chopped parsley

Topping and sauce:
1-2 jars any 3 or more cheese mix sauce (We use Classico 4 cheese sauce)
grated parmesan cheese


Directions

Meat mix:
Add all ingredients together and divide into 2 sections 1 with 2/3rds of meat mix the other w/ 1/3rd of meat mix. Put the 2/3rds in baking pan kinda shape it in meatloaf shape making sure there's room on all sides for sauce. Take a glass lay it dwn sideways making sure there's sure there's meat on all sides so cheese don't leak out and lightly push dwn glass making a U shape depression in the meat.
Cheese mix:
Sprinkle 1/2 TBS of parmesan in U shaped depression. Layer provolone slices in U shaped depression.
In bowl mix egg, salt and pepper, parsley and 1/2 TBS parmesan and stir together then add Italian cheese blend, ricotta, and opt: cottage cheese and stir well (can use your hands to mix it) Spread over provolone slices in U shaped depression. Top with other 1/3 meat mix and seal all sides so cheese don't leak out and pat into meatloaf shape pour 1 jar sauce into pan and cover and bake at 350F for about an hour uncover and add more sauce if needed and cook til starting to brown. Sprinkle more parmesan over top and put back in to lightly brown spoon a lil sauce over top of meatloaf and bake about 10 more mins
