Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon white vinegar
Pink food coloring
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons heavy cream
Sprinkles for decoration


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper cupcake liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Add the water, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until well combined.

Stir in the white vinegar until just combined - do not overmix.

Fill the cupcake liners two-thirds full with the batter and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

To make the pink frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add the confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract.

Add the heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches a smooth and spreadable consistency.

Mix in a few drops of pink food coloring until the desired shade is achieved.

Frost the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or offset spatula, then top with colorful sprinkles for a fun finish.
