I watched my aunt make this cake in 1979 and had to have the recipe. She is now basically famous for her Jewish Apple Cake (at least in our family!) This is a must make!
Ingredients You'll Need
6 med apples peeled and sliced thin (I use granny smith and some other apple)
5 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
3 cups flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup Crisco oil
4 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
Directions
Mix together apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Mix together dry ingredients.
Beat eggs in separate bowl and add in orange juice.
Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Alternate dough mixture and apple mixture ending with dough.
Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees F.
Remove from oven and cool on wire rack for several minutes.
No icing needed.
Enjoy!
