Low Sodium Sweet and Sour Chicken

With our recipe of sweet and sour chicken with only 78 mg of sodium, you can enjoy this dish without any worries

Ingredients You'll Need

2 and ¼ cups self-rising flour

4 skinless and boneless chicken breast cut into small cubes

2 Tbsp cornstarch

2 Tbsp vegetable oil

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp ground pepper

1/2 tsp ground white pepper

1 egg beaten

1?½ cups milk

1 quart vegetable oil for frying

2 green pepper chop about 3/8" pieces I like to use the red, yellow and orange ones too

1/2 onion rough chop


Step 1: Mix cornstarch, oil, flour, garlic powder, black as well as white pepper, onion powder, beaten eggs and garlic powder.

Step 2: Now you have to add about One and a half (1 ½) cup of milk. Pour milk slowly while mixing, you habe to make thick batter (like pancake batter)

Step 3: Now add pieces of chicken and stir until all of the pieces of chicken are coated will.

Step 4: Heat you pan/wok/skillet to 360oF. Fry the chicken in oil for 5 minutes or until they are light golden in color.

Step 5: When serving, sprinkle some peppers, onions over rice or noodles on a plate. Pour the sweet and sour sauce on top of the chicken.
