cream one-half cup butter, add one cup sugar gradually. beat in one egg, then add three heaping teaspoons chocolate malted milk, one-half teaspoon vanilla, one-fourth teaspoon salt. add one teaspoon soda to one cup sour milk (or lemon juice!) and then add alternately with two cups sifted flour to the first mixture. bake in buttered layer-cake pans (or cupcake pans) put together and
cover with white icing.
