"easy, not spicy and the kids will eat it"

Serves at least 4 | Prep Time | Cook Time 30 minutes to all day long

Why I Love This Recipe

I double this recipe on a cold fall/winter day! it's great topped with cheese and a side of cornbread or make a chili dog.. YUM!


Ingredients You'll Need

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder (more to add spice)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
salt and peeper, to taste
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 1lb can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
2 cups water (or chicken stock, yum)


Directions

in a dutch oven, brown ground beef and onion. Drain off fat. Add seasonings and vinegar and stir well. Add in tomato sauce, paste and water. cover and simmer at least 30 minutes - the longer it simmers the better it tastes!

if you prefer thicker chili, you can thicken up with cornstarch and water.

cold weather and cornbread
