Why I Love This Recipe

Enjoy, handed down to me from my grandma's recipe box, by my papaw, and now to ya'll.

You can take out the lemon juice and lemon peel, and just have plain chess pie, either way it's absolutely heavenly like no other.

Ingredients You'll Need

3-eggs
1-cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup melted margarine
1/3 cup sour cream ( I prefer homemade sour cream )
1- tblsp. corn meal
1tblsp. lemon juice
2- tablsp. lemon peel ( grated finely )
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 unbaked (9inch) pie shell ( I prefer homemade crust )
1/3 cup flaked coconut

Directions

Beat eggs and sugar in mixing bowl on medium speed.

Add corn syrup, melted margarine, sour cream, corn meal, lemon juice, lemon peel, and vanilla.

Blend thoroughly.

Pour into pastry shell.

Sprinkle with coconut.

Bake @ 350 for 45 to 50 minutes or until almost set.
