It's autumn and if you are like me, that means changing leaves, jackets, pumpkin picking, and warm, spicy lattes. This latte captures that sweet maple taste that reminds me of perfect autumn days in New England.
Ingredients You'll Need
5 ounces Espresso or Coffee
1/2 Milk or Cream
1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
1/2 tablespoon of Dark Brown Sugar
Clove
Nutmeg
(optional) Cinnamon
(optional) Whipped cream
Directions
Add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, ½ tablespoon of dark brown sugar, a pinch of nutmeg, and a pinch of clove to your mug or glass. If available, you can also add a pin of Allspice.
Add 4-5oz. of freshly brewed coffee or a double shot of espresso to your mug or glass. Using a spoon or small whisk, stir the coffee until the spices are near fully dissolved.
Heat ½ cup of milk until warm to the touch and then whisk or froth it until you reach the desired state of froth / thickness. Add the frothed milk to your glass; top the milk off with foam.
(optional) Gently top off your latte with some whipped cream, preferably dark brown sugar whipped cream (it's amazing!) and fresh cinnamon or nutmeg.
Enjoy!
