Margarita Pie

Why I Love This Recipe
Ingredients You'll Need
1 ¼ cups finely crushed pretzels
2/3 cup (1 1/3 sticks) of butter or margarine, melted
¼ cup sugar
1 quart frozen vanilla ice cream
Grated zest of 1 lime
1 tbsp tequila
1 tbsp orange-flavored liqueur, such as Triple Sec
2 – 3 drops green food color (optional)
Sweetened whipped topping
Sliced fresh lime for garnish
Directions
In mixing bowl, combined pretzel crumbs, butter and sugar. Press firmly over bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Freeze until firm, about 30 minutes.
In another mixing bowl, combine ice cream, lime zest, lime juice, tequila and Triple Sec. If desired, stir in food color until lime green color is achieved. Spoon ice cream mixture into pretzel crust. Freeze until firm, at least 4 hours. When firm, cover with foil or plastic wrap. Pie can be prepared several days in advance and frozen.
For easier cutting, remove pie from freezer 10 minutes before serving. Cut into wedges; serve with a dollop of whipped topping and a slice of lime.
