"aka Sugar cookie in a light bulb figure."

Serves 3-4 dozen cookies | Prep Time | Cook Time 10-12 minutes

Why I Love This Recipe

Note: If you plan on making some cookie ornaments, plan on light frosting and don't forget the hole (like some people you know did!) Why must my cookies always come with some drama? Next year...... empanadas! At least those I can't fail..... Merry Ho Ho and thanks for sharing your treats! Maria Cano

Ingredients You'll Need

1 lb. butter, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp. baking soda, frosting, 2 cups white sugar, 2 tsp vanilla, 4 cups flour, 1/4 cup shredded coconut

Directions

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla to mixture until thoroughly mixed and then add flour, salt and soda.

Separate dough into 4 batches and roll them out to a disk formation. (I used flour on wax paper to roll them out - made my job easier).

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting them out. Thicker double will make chewier cookies, but will spread a lot! (I found out the hard way - 4 dozen cookies later). Thinner dough will hold it's shape better and will be crispier.

My directions said 400 degrees 10-12 minutes. If you leave them longer --- burnt cookies (4 more dozen) and dare I say, fingers! (dropping 2 dozen on the floor) but it depends on your oven!

Cool your cookies and then lightly glaze with frosting and coconut. Should make approximately 3-4 dozen cookies depending on how thick you want them.
