Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

1 ½-2 lbs flank steak
¼-1/3 cup lemon or lime juice
2-3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp peanut oil
1 tsp fruit juice, honey, or maple syrup
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 scallions/green onions (optional)
¼-½ tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp peeled and grated fresh ginger (optional)
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
½ tsp dried parsley or 1 tbsp fresh oregano
2 cloves of garlic, finely minced (optional)
1 tsp course sea salt
¼ tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

Juice the lemons or limes.

Slice scallions thin.

Whisk the lime juice, soy sauce, peanut oil, brown sugar, and fruit juice, honey, or maple syrup in a large baking dish until well blended.

Add the scallions, ginger, red pepper flakes, dried parsley, and garlic to the marinade.

Add the flank steak to the marinade and coat well.

Marinate the steak at room temperature, turning occasionally for 20-30 minutes.

Heat the grill to high.

Remove the steak from the marinade and discard excess marinade.

Season steak with salt and pepper.

Grill the steak, turning once, 4-6 minutes per side for medium rare.
