Master Oatmeal recipe

Ingredients You'll Need
3 cups old fashioned oatmeal
3 cups skim milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Directions
Combine the oatmeal, milk, and 4 cups water in a large deep saucepan and bring to a boil over medium- high heat.
When it boils turn heat to low.
Stir in brown sugar and saltr and cook at a low simmer for 15-20 minutes or until very thick and creamy.
Stir often to prevent the bottom from scorching.
Serve with additional milk or cool and refrigerate to reheat later in the week.
Variations:
Banana Nut: Sub 1/2 cup honey for the brown sugar and add 2 chopped bananas and 3/4 cup toasted chopped nuts. Add banana when honey is added and add nuts just before serving.
Apple cinnamon: Add 2 peeled, cored, and chooped apples and 2 tsp cinnamon when sugar is added.
