Why I Love This Recipe

The basic recipe comes from the South Carolina Farmer's Almanac. I tweaked it to taste as I wanted it, then used it last weekend on ribs and we all loved it. There it is-simple, non-tomato based BBQ sauce with great flavor. Heat it up to your level of scream if you like hot. lucas hess

Ingredients You'll Need

3/4 cup yellow spicy mustard
3/4 cup red wine vinegar(with garlic is good)
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 TBS butter
2 tsp salt(optional)
1/2 tsp Worcestshire
1 1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Red Pepper Sauce-they recommend tabasco but I find it metallic in taste and prefer Try Me brand Yucatan Habanera sauce or any of a number of other hot sauces.

Directions

To Prepare

combine ingredients in a non-reactive saucepan.

Simmer for 30 minutes over low heat

Let stand at least an hour before using.

Refrigerate unused sauce.
