My husband grew up eating cinnamon rolls with his family every Thanksgiving. What a great idea! I decided to add my own flair and make them many more times throughout the year. Every morning is a perfect morning for a warm, sticky cinnamon roll!
Ingredients You'll Need
Dough:
1 Cup warm milk (about 30 seconds in the microwave)
1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 Teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons butter (softened to room temperature)
1 Large egg
3 Cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
6 Tablespoons to ½ cup melted butter
1 Cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Frosting:
4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1 to 1 and ½ cups powdered sugar
½ Teaspoon of vanilla
1 to 2 Tablespoons of milk
Directions
Combine and mix all Dough ingredients with dough hook until tacky (not sticky) to the touch.
Set dough on floured counter-top. Turn bowl over on top of dough and let rise one hour.
Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, set aside.
After dough has risen, roll out dough on floured counter till it makes a rectangle. Spread melted butter on top with a silicon pastry brush. Sprinkle brown sugar & cinnamon combination on top. Roll pastry length wise. Use a knife or dental floss to cut into 12 rolls.
