My Spaghetti Sauce
Why I Love This Recipe
My mom is full Italian, and my childhood memories are all full of family get-togethers--and the smell of sauce simmering on the stove. They cooked it all day, and the house smelled delicious! I've modified the recipe, so instead of beef, I use turkey. For a wonderful substitution, try using turkey italian sausage browned & drained in the sauce instead of plain turkey.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb lean ground turkey, browned & drained
2 cans tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato puree or crushed tomatoes
Low-fat parmesan cheese
**all spices are to taste, I use 2-3 tbsp oregano & basil, about 2 tbsp of splenda, 1 tbsp parsley & italian seasoning, 1-2 tsp salt & pepper & red pepper. About 1/4 cup cheese.
Mix, heat & serve.
