Why I Love This Recipe
I LOVED having these at Nana's house when I was a kid.
Ingredients You'll Need
5 C flour
1 1/2 Tbls salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cloves
3/4 C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1 C molasses
1/2 C water
Directions
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, ginger, baking soda and cloves.
In a mixing bowl, beat together shortening & sugar.
Add molasses & water.
Mix in flour mixture.
Chill dough
Preheat oven to 375F
Cut out 3 in round shapes (or use your favorite cookie cutters)
Bake at 350F for 8 - 10 minutes
