Why I Love This Recipe

Nutella was created during World War II when an Italian pastry maker mixed hazelnuts into chocolate to extend his cocoa supply.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 cup Nutella
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup hemp hearts


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the Nutella, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and beat until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and hemp hearts.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Pairs Well With

A glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream
