Why I Love This Recipe

Your family will seriously devour these light, fluffy and delicious dinner rolls.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 cup water
1 cup quick oats
3 Tbsp. Margarine or butter
1 ¼ ounce package of yeast / equivalent to 2 ¼ tsp
1/3 cup warm water
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. white sugar
1 ½ tsp. salt
4 ¾ - 5 ¼ cups flour (of your choice)

Directions

Boil 2 cups water in a pot, add the oats and butter. Cook and stir for one minute, then let cool until lukewarm.
In a bowl – dissolve the yeast in 1/3 cup of warm water. Add the oat mixture, sugars, salt and 4 cups of flour. Mix well until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board or countertop. Knead until smooth and elastic. ( Approximately 5-6 minutes)
Once kneaded, put into a greased bowl; turning once to grease the top. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled. * Approximately 1 hour
You must not forget this next step!
Punch down the dough to release the air pockets. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
Shape into 18 balls and place in 2 greased round cake pans. Cover and let the dough rise again until doubled. Approximately 45 minutes.
Now you can bake! Place in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes, Or until golden.
