Why I Love This Recipe

Did you know that the Oreo cookie was originally intended to be a temporary product? When it was first introduced by Nabisco in 1912, it was meant to be a simple, cost-effective snack for those affected by the economic downturn. Little did they know that the Oreo would become one of the most beloved and iconic cookies of all time!


Ingredients You'll Need

1 package (8 rolls) Pillsbury Grand! Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing
16 Oreo cookies, divided
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar


Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate or cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.


Separate the cinnamon roll dough into 8 individual rolls. Using a rolling pin, flatten each roll into a thin circle, about 1/4-inch thick.


Crush 8 of the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. In a small bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese and butter. Mix until well blended.


Spread a heaping tablespoon of the Oreo cream cheese mixture onto each flattened cinnamon roll dough circle, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.


Coarsely chop the remaining 8 Oreo cookies and sprinkle evenly over the cream cheese mixture on each cinnamon roll.


Starting from the outside edge, tightly roll up each cinnamon roll, forming a spiral.


Place the rolled cinnamon rolls into the prepared pie plate or cake pan, arranging them in a circle with the swirled tops facing up.


Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is set. Check for doneness by gently pressing the center of the rolls; they should feel slightly firm.


While the rolls are baking, make the cream cheese icing by combining the cream cheese icing packet from the cinnamon roll package with the powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.


Remove the baked cinnamon roll swirls from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle the cream cheese icing over the top, allowing it to cascade down the swirls.


Serve warm and enjoy!
